Prenup Pros
Prenup Pros is a law firm based in Northern Virginia that provides affordable, flat-fee prenuptial and postnuptial agreements to clients in Florida, New York, New Jersey and Virginia. Marital Agreements are all we do. That means premarital agreement review, counseling and drafting are the only legal services offered by our law firm.

Why do we do Prenups? At Prenup Pros, we believe that every couple planning to marry should at least consider entering into a premarital agreement. The true purpose of every prenuptial agreement is to clearly state what essential marital rights each spouse has in the event of a divorce (excluding rights relating to kids).

Virginia Prenups
Report
Virginia Prenuptial Agreements (also called "premarital agreements" or "prenups") are written contracts that couples enter into prior to marriage. Prenups in Virginia are expressly allowed by the Virginia Premarital Agreement Act Va.

Code §§20-147 through 20-155, which sets forth the requirements for entering into a legally enforceable Virginia Prenuptial Agreement, including the content that can and cannot be included in a premarital contract.

Report
Prenuptial Agreements are contracts entered into by couples prior to and in anticipation of marriage, so they are commonly referred to as Premarital Agreements or Antenuptial Agreements. Because people generally use those terms interchangeably, we often just refer to them as Prenups.

Prenups are essentially written to allow a couple to agree on marital rights and divorce terms that supersede and replace those default state marriage and divorce laws that often force couples to lawyer up and battle it out in court.People who sign a premarital agreement or a postnuptial agreement (signed after marriage) embrace a set of terms that clarify and resolve what rights they have when their marriage ends by death or divorce.
8 Pros Of A Prenup
Report
After years of marriage, people often can't trace what was theirs and what is joint marital property. With a prenup, each party can specify premarital property/assets to remain the separate property of their original owner throughout the marriage. A prenup does not prevent a spouse from voluntarily contributing their separate property to the marriage at any point-it just prevents that from happening accidentally.
Do We Need A Prenup
Report
A prenuptial agreement is a written contract that a couple makes before and in contemplation of marriage. A well-drafted prenuptial agreement sets the rules by which a married couple operates should they ever separate and/or divorce down the road. The purpose of a prenup is to set out the terms of the couple's assets and debts, including property and future earnings and how they should be distributed if the marriage is dissolved.
