No matter how young or old they are, you can help your child make healthier food choices that curb hunger throughout the day, provide energy and contribute to their daily intake of nutrients. If this is something your child has grown used to, it may not be easy, but if you don't keep them on hand they'll have to settle for something that's better for them.
Set a good example by choosing healthy snacks yourself. Combine brightly colored veggies and fruits with tasty dips and let the fun begin! For example present you child with a dish of baby carrots and other raw veggies with fat-free ranch dressing or hummus. A sweet treat idea might be to dip graham cracker sticks or fresh fruit in honey or fat-free yogurt.

Our Practice
Report
I've recommended this practice to both friends and new moms in the area alike. We couldn't be happier with the treatment given to our children by the doctors at Health Care For Children. We are blessed with healthy, beautiful twins. Still, as a new mom, I am sometimes very anxious. Dr. Daliva listens to my concerns and caringly treats my children just like they are hers!.
Advice For Parents
Report
Sometimes it's hard to tell how sick your child is. However, urgent care or a trip to the hospital is usually not needed for a simple cold or cough, mild diarrhea, constipation, temper tantrums, or sleep problems. No additional foods (except Vitamin D) or fluids are needed, unless medically indicated and instructed by your physician.
