Adoph Pfeiffer graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1874. After a period as a retail pharmacist, he started the Pfeiffer Company. His understanding of the needs and problems of his profession motivated him to manufacture quality pharmaceuticals and sell them at prices which provided good profit margins to the retail pharmacist without large overburdening deals.
