Wellness Exams
Our comprehensive wellness exams establish baseline health metrics and detect early disease indicators through physical evaluations and diagnostic testing. Technicians gather detailed medical histories while veterinarians perform head-to-tail examinations, including heart, lung, dental, and joint assessments. We recommend annual exams for adult pets and more frequent visits for seniors or animals with chronic conditions, ensuring proactive healthcare management tailored to each patient's specific needs.
Pet Dental Care
We provide complete dental services including professional cleanings, periodontal disease treatment, and tooth extractions under anesthesia. Our protocol includes pre-anesthetic bloodwork, digital dental radiography, and post-procedure home care guidance. We address halitosis, gingivitis, and advanced dental disease while emphasizing preventive care through regular brushing instruction and specialized diets to maintain oral health and prevent systemic infections.
Vaccinations
Our vaccination programs protect pets against core and lifestyle-appropriate diseases through customized schedules. We administer rabies, distemper, and feline leukemia vaccines while evaluating individual risk factors for non-core vaccinations. Our team provides documentation for legal requirements and boarding facilities, with reminders for booster schedules. We explain vaccine benefits and potential side effects to help owners make informed decisions about their pets' preventive healthcare.
Ultrasound Services
Diagnostic ultrasound examinations evaluate internal organ structure and function for accurate disease diagnosis. Our veterinarians use this non-invasive technology to assess cardiac conditions, abdominal abnormalities, and reproductive health. When complex cases require specialist interpretation, we coordinate referrals while maintaining continuity of care through our established network of board-certified veterinary radiologists and cardiologists.
Emergency Care
We offer immediate medical attention for critical conditions during regular business hours and partner with regional emergency facilities for after-hours care. Our team handles trauma, poisoning, respiratory distress, and other life-threatening situations with triage prioritization. We maintain equipment for stabilization procedures and provide clear transfer instructions to specialized centers when advanced overnight care becomes necessary for patient survival.

My family has taken our animals to the Erie Animal Hospital since our first guinea pig 20 years ago. We have always had good care. The doctors are kind to the animals and the vet techs have always been friendly and competent. The front desk staff can be a little abrupt sometimes, but I have seen that is just the nature of the person, who is actually a nice person underneath the abrupt exterior. The doctors and staff were caring and wonderful to our family when we had to put one of our aging and suffering dogs down. I have only used one other animal hospital which was way more up to date and

My first experience at the Erie Animal Hospital was bland and nothing special. I brought my first puppy to this establishment and was let down each appointment, time after time. My puppy was diagnosed with Giardia (a common parasite found in puppies). He was treated five times over the course of 3 months. I called the vet many times expressing my concern, because his symptoms did not change. After the vet could not come up with a plan of attack to get ride of the giardia I decided to conduct my OWN research. My small toy poodle should have been on several cycles of the medicine because giardia
