Services
Orthopedics
Our orthopedic services address skeletal injuries and joint issues in pets using advanced diagnostic tools and treatment plans. We handle fractures, ligament tears, and developmental disorders through surgical and non-surgical approaches. Patients receive tailored rehabilitation guidance to ensure proper recovery while owners benefit from clear communication about their pet's condition and care requirements.
Endoscopy
This minimally invasive procedure uses flexible cameras to examine internal organs and collect biopsies without major surgery. Our specialized equipment allows accurate diagnosis of gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urinary tract conditions. The technique reduces patient discomfort and recovery time while providing veterinarians with real-time visual data for immediate assessment and treatment planning.
Soft Tissue Surgery
We perform surgical treatments for skin, muscle, and organ conditions using modern anesthetic and monitoring systems. Our facility supports procedures ranging from spays/neuters to complex tumor removals and trauma repair. Preoperative diagnostics ensure surgical safety while postoperative care includes pain management and recovery monitoring by experienced veterinary technicians.
Emergency Care
Critical care services operate beyond regular hours through shared on-call veterinarian arrangements. We handle trauma, poisoning, breathing difficulties, and other life-threatening conditions during evenings and weekends. After 10 PM, small animal emergencies transfer to our affiliated Amarillo facility while our team remains available for initial stabilization guidance.
Dentistry
Comprehensive dental services include professional cleanings, extractions, and periodontal disease management. Our technicians use ultrasonic scalers to remove plaque below the gumline while polishing creates smooth surfaces resistant to future buildup. Fluoride treatments strengthen enamel while digital X-rays identify hidden dental issues requiring intervention.

When our local (Fritch) animal hospital REFUSED to see my badly hurt, potentially dying little border collie, I took her to Hi Plains, and they took her in-she was hit by a vehicle, and had 3 badly damaged legs. THEY SAVED HER LIFE!!!! She is now recovering at home, and is a really fast moving 3 legged dog, as one hind leg was so damaged it required amputation. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANY PET OWNER IN TEXAS!!!!

The best Veterinary Hospital in the panhandle. I’ve used them for everything from surgery, to routine, to boarding. Even trusted them with Bevo’s last moments. This past week I unexpectedly had to go to the hospital, so boarded Cricket & Lillie. When I got out of the hospital this afternoon, I went to get them. High Plains didn’t charge me boarding fee because of my hospitalization. I live alone so don’t have immediate options for my pets. It’s great to know they’re always in such great, caring hands. I highly recommend them.
