Thermal imaging cameras don't actually see temperature. Instead, they capture the infrared (IR) energy transfer from an object to its environment and produce a real-time image in a color palette where hotter objects appear brighter and cooler objects appear darker.
Mostly thermal imaging cameras are used where the identification of thermal anomalies can be used to find an issue or diagnose a condition, such as insufficient or missing insulation, overloaded circuit, moisture damage/leaks in a home or commercial building.Because thermal energy can be reflected off shiny surfaces, thermal imaging cameras can not see through glass.

Next is the interior. I usually work through the building in a logical sequence, one room at a time and one floor at a time. All walls, ceilings, floors, doors, and HVAC vent conditions will be noted throughout the home. The kitchen appliances and bath fixtures will all be tested as will all electrical outlets.

Q. Are you available to answer questions about the property or report after I close and move into the home? The code of ethics of The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) prohibits its members from soliciting repair work on properties they inspect. This assures that there will never be any conflict of interest on the part of the inspector.
