We are a serious Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school dedicated to spreading the Art in its truest form. We focus on all aspects of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and No-Gi Grappling in order to provide our students with all the tools needed to be successful in not only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but in life as well. While only about 10% of our students choose to compete, here everyone gets the opportunity to train like a competitor.
Our training focuses on self-defense and competition style Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Most students attend the classes to get a great workout and get in better shape. However, everyone leaves with more confidence, a better fitness level and the tools to defend themselves should the situation ever arise.

The Marra Senki Jiu-Jitsu Academy is the original Power Team Academy of San Antonio and provides a multi-dimensional approach to martial arts cross training by offering instruction in all aspects of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, our adult classes are co-ed with both men and women of all ages and fitness levels, we offer kids classes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense and we also have an after school program.

Beginners BJJ, Executive BJJ, No-GI BJJ, Intermediate BJJ, Advanced BJJ - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is the core art taught at the Marra Senki Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the art that we teach as developed by the Gracie family of Brazil. Even though BJJ contains standup techniques for winning a fight, it is famous for its devastating ground fighting techniques.

At Marra Senki BJJ Academy safety is paramount. Accidents may happen, however, lack of seriousness during training and the resultant careless application of technique or counters contribute greatly to injury. Careless practice is disrespectful to the spirit of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and we do not allow it.

When you enter the mat, greet all students individually with a handshake and bow, by belt ranking: Black, Brown, Purple, Blue, and White. Classes BEGIN with a formal BOW to the Instructor and then to the pictures of the GRANDMASTERS. Classes END with students lined up in belt rank descending order facing the Professor.
