We pride ourselves on our medical knowledge and skills, honesty, empathy, and ability to go the extra mile for you. We are a full service veterinary hospital and are able to provide wellness services as well as complete sick and injured animal care.

Our Story
Report
The first generation of our practice was founded in 1996 as Berlin Veterinary Clinic by Dr. Steven Carey, DVM. In September of 2018, Dr. Nicolas Drolet, DVM and Dr. Rumpke purchased Berlin Veterinary Clinic, which then became Montpelier Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Drolet joined the practice full time soon after.
Small Animal Services
Report
A yearly wellness visit with our doctors is important to help your pet live a long, healthy life. Your pet ages at a faster rate than we do and changes in their health can happen quickly. Common problems like dental disease, heart conditions, and skin problems can be detected during these visits.
Preventative measures including vaccinations, common disease screening tests, and parasite prevention are extremely important to decrease the chance of your pet developing diseases. If your pet is sick or injured, we may recommend diagnostic tests to determine the source or extent of the problem. Services offered within our hospital allow us to provide test results while you wait with your pet, minimizing waiting time when your pet is sick.

House And Farm Calls
Report
We offer a limited number of house call appointments for your pets per week. Reasons for choosing a house call over an in-hospital appointment can vary, but most commonly our house calls are utilized for in-home hospice and euthanasia services. Call us to learn more and for availability. We offer large animal farm calls for both routine and emergency services.
Emergencies
Report
We are now taking daytime and limited after hours emergency calls for our regular small animal clients and all large animal patients. You can reach our staff during office hours and the on call doctor after hours and weekends by calling (802) 223-3220. A doctor will return your call as soon as possible to discuss your animal's health.
