Praia Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was founded by Thiago Pierre in 2019 to introduce an authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle to the local Costa Mesa Community. Affiliated with Checkmat BJJ, Praia students can be confident knowing they will get the best possible care, motivation, and instruction from a world-renowned academy and coach.

Our kids program introduces students to all of the fundamental positions in Jiu Jitsu - Stand-up, Guard, Side Control, Mount Control, and Back Control. Children of all levels are welcome and are sure to get the best possible introduction to the sport and lifestyle of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Our Fundamentals class is a great way for anyone to get introduced Jiu Jitsu.

Kids come to us with a great variety of experience. Due to this wide range, we offer a Littles (Kids age 4-7) and Youth (age 8-14) Limited Class Membership, where children can attend a Limited number of Littles OR Youth Classes sessions for a discounted rate. This membership is only valid for Littles OR Youth classes (3X weekly, no other classes).

We are on the left-hand side of the parking lot, next door to Victor Donuts and across from the Water Brewery. Yes, Victoria Shopping Center has parking for students. We do however, encourage all our students to utilize alternative methods of transportation such as biking, walking, carpooling, children's drop off, or off site parking locations.
