Although our focus is on the prevention of oral health disease and in the maintenance of optimum oral health, our primary goal is always to try to provide a positive dental experience for our patients. As such, we believe it is vital to create an environment of partnership with parents. Only by working together can we succeed in achieving the best oral health outcomes.
We want parents to be involved in all aspects of treatment whenever possible; including allowing parents to be with their children during exams, cleanings, and procedures. We recognize how difficult coming into a dental office can be for children and parents alike. Be aware that at Gators Tooth Team we will never force any procedure; we want parents to be comfortable with our recommendations and enhance your child's dental experience.

Report
Your child should ideally be seen every six months for routine check-ups and cleanings. Maintaining recall appointments helps us to address any early lesions before they become symptomatic. Radiographs are taken to diagnose lesions (cavities) developing between the teeth. These images, along with a clinical exam by our pediatric dentists, will allow us to do a thorough diagnosis for your child.
First visit
Report
We suggest you make an appointment to see the dentist as soon as your child gets his or her first tooth. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children be seen by six months after their first tooth erupts, or at one year of age, whichever comes first. The first visit is usually short and simple.
Office Policies
Report
We do our best effort to accommodate to parental needs when scheduling appointments. However, based on many years of experience we are aware that for pre-school children or those requiring extensive treatment, it is more appropriate to see them early in the morning when they are fresher, we can work at a slower pace for their comfort leading to a more pleasant experience.
Pediatric Dentistry
Report
The American Dental Association (ADA) defines pediatric dentistry as an "age-defined specialty that provides primary and comprehensive preventive and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence". The primary reason for pediatric dentistry is that infants, children, and adolescent have special physical and psychological needs.
