Wren Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the main forms of treatment in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It involves the use of sterile, hair-fine needles that are inserted in the body at very specific points. The needles target the body's natural life force, also called qi (chi). Emotional stress, environmental toxins, poor diet, and lack of exercise disrupt the free flow of qi along the body's energy pathways.

Moxibustion, or Moxa Therapy, is burning the dried herb Mugwort to warm acupuncture points, increase circulation of blood and qi flow and dispel certain pathogenic influences. Moxa is usually made from the dried leafy material of Chinese mugwort (Artemesia argyi or A. vlugaris).

Practitioners generally hold a burning moxa stick close to, but not touching, the surface of the skin or touching the acupuncture needle in order to create a warming sensation.Moxa expels cold from the body and is effective for chronic/acute pain, digestive issues and female health problems such as menstrual cramps and infertility.

Cupping is a modality where glass cups are attached to the skin surface to cause local congestion through the negative pressure created by introducing heat in the form of an ignited material. It has the function of warming and promoting the free flow of energy and blood in the body. Cupping increases circulation and in turn, decrease pain and swelling.

In European Folklore the wren is considered the king of birds! She was able to use her energetic, innovative nature to defeat the larger birds and flew the highest into the sky by secretly riding on the back of the eagle. The wren is the symbol for the foundation of my practice - to bring you back to a state of vibrance, balance, and alertness by using an innovative approach to healing.
