The Indigo Inn is situated in the center of downtown Charleston and offers an elegant, yet comfortable setting. Many of the Inn's historic guest rooms overlook our vibrant, European-style central atrium where the sound of soothing fountains are heard by guests exiting to explore the Holy City. The Indigo Inn was once a foundation of the Charleston textile industry, originally constructed as an inventory warehouse to store indigo dye. Eventually, the buildings that stood at 226-228 Meeting Street were demolished, with the exception of the Victorian style cast-iron facade ornamentation.
