Currently, the radiation-free technology that most holistic dentists are waiting on is not yet available. Dr. Mallery understands the concerns with ionizing radiation exposure with dental x-rays, however due to standards of practice, she must follow the guidelines for taking radiographs until an alternative is available.

Ozone Therapy

Ozone is used in many of our services as it is great for killing bacteria, viruses and fungi upon contact. Ozone is naturally occurring in our environment in a gaseous form and can also be produced in office using an ozone generator with pure oxygen. In office, we utilize ozone by applying it directly to cavities during treatments to reduce the bacteria in the teeth that caused that cavity to form.
Fluoride-Free

Dr. Mallery does not promote or recommend the use of fluoride for her patients. Dr. Mallery supports and follows the recommendations by IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology). While some evidence suggests that topical applications of fluoride (such as brushing with a fluoride-containing toothpaste) might lower the incidence of tooth decay, evidence also suggests that swallowed toothpaste can contribute to childhood overdose.
