My name is Meghan LaPrairie. On any given day, you might find me working in the garden, practicing yoga, playing soccer with my children, or trying out a new vegetarian dish I saw on Pinterest. I am an empath. My friends describe me as having openness, honesty and inquisitiveness. I recently asked my partner what first drew him to me.

I offer Personal Branding Photography for individuals, businesses and organizations. Whether you own a yoga studio, are an author or an illustrator, or own a cheese and wine shop I work with people from all trades and walks of life.
I create stunning images to help businesses large and small to showcase their products and services. From locally-owned artisanal shops to breweries and from B-Corp brands to restaurants, I work with each of my clients' brands to capture their best work and bolster their online reputation. To achieve each shoot I've partnered with top food stylists.

I cannot recommend Meghan LaPrairie more highly! She is polite, punctual, professional, and her products are simply breathtaking. Choosing Meghan as our photographer was such a dream - she answers questions promptly, she knows how to make everyone involved feel comfortable (even the most awkward among us!), and she delivers exceptional photos that we literally could not wait to display. Meghan photographed my daughter’s 40 th birthday and I am so pleased to have these beautiful memories . I live half way across the country from my daughter but seeing these photographs made me feel as though I was right there. She captured the essence of all my daughters friends who I have known since she was at Washington University back in the day ! Thank you Meghan !

I hired Meghan for numerous projects over 5+ years, including photography for packaged products/branding, food/recipes, people/headshots, and events. I highly recommend her for all of it. We reached out to Meghan to do a newborn photo shoot. Not only was she super flexible and able to squeeze us into her schedule when baby arrived 3 weeks early, but she even turned the photos around super quickly in order to get us the finished photos before she went on vacation. We ended up with some absolutely beautiful photos, and could not be happier. She was so warm and easy to work with. We will absolutely be using her services again in the future. Can't recommend her enough!

I just love Meghan's photography. The maternity pictures she captured... I didn't realize how much I wanted and cherished these pictures until I saw them. Truthfully, I worried that any maternity pictures would just look generic, that I wouldn't really want to do anything with them, or that they wouldn't reflect my taste. I didn't really want to be the sole focus of a photo shoot. But Meghan made such beautiful use of landscape, integrating season and style and mood... the photos were poetic, capturing so much more than me. They captured the subtlety of a particular time

Meghan is the most amazing woman and photographer. She had a way of making you feel totally comfortable and at ease. She photographed my wedding and just did a mini session for my baby boy. Meghan did a wonderful job with my head shots. I love them! It was a great experience that I would highly recommend. Meghan provided guidance before and during the photo shoot on clothing, color palette, and posing - which was extremely helpful as this was my first time getting professional head shots. During the shoot, Meghan was professional and respectful, all while creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Meghan's talent is undeniable, and it shows in the final product!

It was very easy to work with Meghan at Shot in the Dark Photography. She responds to emails quickly and offers guidance before and during the photo shoot to ensure you look your best. She was extremely well prepared and scouted locations and brought props to the shoot so we had varied shots and lots of options. Yet, she was also relaxed and made sure everyone, especially our child, was comfortable. And the pictures speak for themselves. They're gorgeous. Meghan is a true artist and professional. I would recommend Shot in the Dark to a friend without hesitation.
