Services
Pet Wellness Exams
Annual physical exams help establish baseline health metrics for personalized care. We assess vital signs, body condition, organ function, and dental health while discussing lifestyle factors to create customized wellness plans. Regular checkups enable early detection of potential issues, reducing long-term treatment costs and extending pets' healthy lifespans.
Vaccination Protocols
Tailored vaccination schedules protect pets against communicable diseases based on age, breed, and risk factors. We administer core vaccines like rabies and distemper while offering lifestyle-specific options for Lyme disease and leptospirosis. Our protocols follow AAHA guidelines to balance protection with minimizing over-vaccination.
Veterinary Surgery
We perform spays, neuters, soft-tissue surgeries, and dental procedures using modern anesthetic protocols. Pre-surgical bloodwork, IV catheterization, and multi-modal pain management ensure patient safety. Complex cases receive specialized care through affiliated board-certified surgeons who visit our facility as needed.
In-House Pharmacy
Our pharmacy stocks prescription medications, preventive treatments, and therapeutic diets for immediate access. Products include flea/tick preventives, dental care items, and joint supplements while maintaining strict storage protocols. Staff provides detailed dosing instructions and monitors for potential drug interactions.
Pet Microchipping
Permanent identification microchips improve lost pet recovery chances. We implant ISO-standardized chips and register them with HomeAgain's 24/7 recovery service. The service includes lost pet alerts to local clinics, medical information sharing during recovery, and emergency assistance for relocated pets.

The staff was really good at calming our dog. They gave us several treatment options for her and ultimately let us decide. Expensive but every vet is. Will definitely go back when needed.

Dr. Hans and Becky were so wonderful! My cat is very skittish and very scared of most people, but they were so great with her and she did a lot better than I thought she would! It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend them to anyone 😁

Best vet hands down! Honestly the best experience I’ve had with a vet clinic. Caring, loving they take good care of your animal. They are honest they tell you what’s straight up no lies. I’ll always keep coming back worth the 2.5 drive. ❤️

I’m truly disappointed in the lack of concern and response from this clinic. I have called, scheduled through the app and talked with staff requesting an owner to return my call and crickets! Nothing...... I have a sick dog and was told they are scheduled out three weeks! Say what? Not sure who is doing your scheduling but this has nothing to do… with COVID! It is a scheduling problem and taking care of your existing patients. I don’t want your emergency care spots in upwards of $100+ to drive in your lot, I want someone who cares about our four legged fur babies as much as we

Dr. Hans and his tech made saying goodbye to both of my pups as peaceful as it could possibly be. I am so incredibly thankful for their professionalism, respect, and gentle, kindhearted nature towards both our family and our pup during the transition. The entire staff at GR Vet Clinic clearly love what they do and that shines through from the moment you walk in the door. Grand Rapids Veterinary Clinic has our business for life.
