Peter Smith, a Republican and his brother Fred Smith, a Democrat (the Smith Brothers) founded the agency in 1896. According to the Adams Historical Society, both had previously served as Postmaster in the town of Adams. They were active community members, a trait that has held true with all of the owners since then.

Dave previously served as President and CEO of the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce from 2001-2006. Dave has over 25 + years of experience in the insurance industry. Personal: Dave also is the Board President of the Plunkett Nominee Trust, and serves on the ProAdams Board of Directors. When Dave is not helping the community, he likes to read biographies, support his Boston & New England sports teams and spend time with his family & friends.
