Dr. Kristina Staples, a native of Southside Virginia, spent seven years as Director of Dental Services for a Community Health Center Organization in Virginia, supervising 11 dental offices and their staffs.
In 2018 she returned to her home of Blackstone to take over the practice of a retiring dentist and rebrand it as Blackstone Family Dentistry. Blackstone Family Dentistry has been serving the Blackstone community for over 40 years. The practice was originally founded by Dr. Mark Reitz in 1978. When Dr. Reitz retired in 2018, the practice was purchased by Dr. Staples, who had been serving as the Director of Dental Services for a community health center in Virginia.

While most dental procedures performed at Blackstone Family Dentistry are focused on preserving your teeth, for various reasons occasionally adult teeth need to be removed in the interest of maintaining proper oral health. As far as dental procedures go, the extraction of a tooth can be a bit more involved than installing fillings or crowns.
