The building envelope wrap, flashing, caulking and siding should be done properly and to industry standards. If these elements are not done properly you can suffer from water intrustion, which can eventually lead to rot and cause costly siding and dry rot repairs.

Siding is installed over the vapor barrier. Proper siding installation is the first line of defense from exterior water intrusion. To hold the siding tightly in place we nail it directly to the framing/studs using the proper fasteners. The use of galvanized or stainless steel nails is recommended as other types of nails will rust and break over time.
