I came into Dr Dave's office - practically walked in same day - with severe molar. All it took was a phone call. After some x-rays and poking around, he found that an old filling failed. When he removed the filling, he found a deep cavity that nearly went to the root of the tooth. No wonder I was in pain.

Every new patient starts with a thorough oral examination. The only exception would be an emergency situation. Included in the exam is a complete evaluation of all teeth, missing teeth, restorations, and soft tissues, which include the gums, tongue, palate, and other surrounding tissues. A full series of x-rays is necessary to complete this exam.
