Pediatric dentistry is the specialty of dentistry that focuses on the oral health of young people. After completing a four-year dental school curriculum, two to three additional years of rigorous training are required to become a pediatric dentist.
This specialized program of study and hands-on experience prepares pediatric dentists to meet the needs of infants, children and adolescents, including persons with special health care needs. We are concerned about your child's total health care. Good oral health is an important part of total health.

Your First Visit
Report
Our office, along with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, all recommend that children should establish a "Dental Home" by their first birthday. Your child should be informed of the visit and told that the dentist and their staff will explain all procedures and answer all questions.
Office Policies
Report
We make every effort possible to provide appointments available to you at your convenience. Preschool children and children who require extensive treatment should be seen in the morning, as they are "fresher" in the morning and generally do better for their visits.
Dental visit is an excused absence, in fact state law [California Education Code §48205(a)(3)] specifically provides that "a pupil shall be excused from school when the absence is for the purpose of having medical, dental, optometrical, or chiropractic services rendered."Since appointed times are reserved exclusively for each patient, we ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment if you are unable to make it.

Dental FAQ
Report
A toothbrush will remove plaque bacteria that can lead to decay. Any soft-bristled toothbrush with a small head, preferably one designed specifically for infants, should be used at least once a day at bedtime. In order to prevent dental problems, your child should see a pediatric dentist when the first tooth appears, or no later than his/her first birthday.
Post-Op Care
Report
Dr. Lee routinely calls his patients, usually the same day, to check in and see how he/she is doing after the dental treatment. However, in the event when we cannot be reached, here are some post-operative care instructions that may help keep your child comfortable after the visit. A thorough cleaning unavoidably produces some bleeding and swelling and may cause some tenderness or discomfort.
