Dr. Ishida has been practicing general dentistry in the Silicon Valley for over 30 years. She is a graduate of the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry where she is a Willard C. Fleming Scholar.
She is a member of several professional associations including the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Santa Clara County Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, International Team for Implants, and International Academy of Dental Research.Dr. Ishida is a member of local service and community organizations.

I wrote an earlier review of Dr. Phyllis Ishida, and wanted to update it with even more amazing information. I had a crown installed by another dentist ( who we moved away from as they were not stellar), and Dr. Ishida fixed their mistake. Moreover, when my crown from the other dentist fell out, she promptly saw me and fixed it. Then when I had a toothache, one should could not fix as she does specialize in Root Canals, she called 3 specialists who could on a HOLIDAY (President's Day) and made appointments for me so I could choose. She pointed me in the right direction and they helped

I love this place. I am so exited to finally have found a great dentist that also has a great supporting staff.
Marisol at the front desk is well organized, professional and took great care with my instructions. She knows how to do things to makes it easy on you as possible.
Dr. Ishida is not a rookie, she knows what she's doing. I felt like she was this tooth wizard, telling me things like, "your fillings are mostly from junior high, aren't they?". I guess a good dentist would recognize those things but in the moment I was like, "Amazing! How did you KNOW??" Haha

I drive 20 miles each way to see Dr. Ishida. I have been seeing her since the 80s. She is thorough, caring and observant. She remembers each patient, even though she probably sees many. She is unquestionably competent. If there is a specialty issue, she refers you to an expert. She doesn't try to take on everything. I respect her for that.
You couldn't do better with a dentist than with Dr. Ishida.

I've been a patient of Phyllis' for about nine months and I'm extremely unimpressed with her business. I use the word business because she seems more interested in making money that imparting proper care on her patients.
Example: A typical cleaning in bay area costs between $105-$125. It includes a cleaning, typically performed by a hygienist, and quick examination by the dentist. Phyllis charges an additional $65 for the quick, 2-3 minute once over of your mouth. No wonder health care costs in the US are going up, and insurance provider reimbursement rates are down.
