I began my photography journey as a young girl with a pink and purple 110 camera. Back then, I photographed everything from my little brother to Barbie & Ken's wedding on my playroom floor. I picked up my passion again with digital imagery in 2002. An unexpected side business of taking portraits for family and friends led to leaving my critical care nursing job and taking my studio full time in 2009!
Today, I focus my work on high school seniors and families in Central Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic coastal areas of VA & NC. I've developed a signature style that's full of light and painterly-like, rich color. I'm also huge fan of backlight, laughter, and wind-blown hair. My senior sessions are an artistic mix of casual poses, in-between moments, with hints of fine art.
