Paul retired in 1990 and turned Martel, Inc. over to their four children: Paul Jr., Peter, Lynda, and Kristine. The Martel company has grown in size over the past 50 years and now has a total of fifteen employees, including Paul and Kay's grandchildren, Zack and Laci, and son-in-law Ed Robidas.
