The AK Macagna Funeral Home was founded in 1934 by Adam and Kate Macagna, hence the funeral home's AK title. Adam and Kate Macagna, being the one of the first husband and wife team of funeral directors, were also considered pioneers in the funeral industry when women were very rarely seen in that line of work.

These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. Anthony S. Macagna, Jr. was born in New York City, on the Lower East Side.

Tony was born in New York City, andwas a licensed funeral director for 65 years. He started his career in funeral service at the Adam K. Macagna Funeral Home on 12th Street in New York City and subsequently founded the A.K. Macagna Funeral Home of Cliffside Park in 1969. He was amember of the Cliffside Park Men's Club, Englewood Cliffs UNITI, Unico and numerous other civic and philanthropic organizations.
