We are among the best Karate / Tae Kwon Do, Brazilian jiu jitsu and Kickboxing academies in Phoenix Arizona and offer an awesome martial arts training for the whole family. Yoga has been around since 3000 B.C originating in India developed for harmonizing the body, heart and mind. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a ground-fighting, combat sport, self defense system that focuses on grappling.

Wednesday night, we had the special visit from Sensei's Kikin father and master to our Black belt class, which he led and trained with our team. A super special and exciting moment for sure!

Ucelo Martial Arts (UMA) was established in Guatemala by Grand Master Miguel Ucelo father of Master Kikin (our instructor) in the year 1988; we have over 30 years of experience teaching martial arts to children and adults. During all these years we have produced champions in the art as well as in life.

Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a ground-fighting, combat sport, self defense system that focuses on grappling. Literally translated "the gentle art". Brazilian Jiu Jitsu promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger individual by using leverage and proper technique - most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds.
Teen & Adult

The core emphasis in our martial arts training is to develop positive attitudes through Respect, Honesty, Honor, Loyalty, and many other positive character traits. Our martial arts program has a combination between Tae Kwon Do, Karate Do and Hapkido and students learn all three while training with us.
Little Tigers

Students are tested upon exercises learned in class as well as self-defense techniques. Classes are conducted in a 40 minute session 3 times a week.

Our Little Tigers learn to: Solve problems, Follow directions, Take turns, Act respectfully, develop love for learning, develop speech and language, develop self-esteem, show self-control, promote physical strength, promote coordination and stamina, Increase their focus ability, encourage socialization, demonstrate responsibility, promote physical strength, develop a sense of independence, build fundamental motor skills, increase awareness of body and space.
