Mark and Anna Gorman are the owners and operators of Mountain Eagle Karate. They began their martial arts training at the University of New Mexico, Mark in 1983, and Anna in 1997. Mark ran the martial arts program at UNM from 1995-2001 teaching, introducing, and developing hundreds of students. Mark and Anna opened Mountain Eagle Karate in 2001.
In addition to operating Mountain Eagle Karate, the Gormans have created a character development program for kids built around "life skills" for success. This program is a primary focus for our kids' classes and has been taught to thousands of Albuquerque children through the Gorman's partnership with APS, and private charter schools.

This past year has been rough, but we are SO impressed with our students who have continued to train online. Things are starting to improve now and we are slowly opening back up for in-person classes, but we're keeping our online classes available, too. Visit our Calendar page for class times and links.

One of the benefits of martial arts is that each student can grow at their own pace. No matter what skill level they start at, they will improve, and they are free to take the time they need to develop their skills in an environment that suits their individual needs. Children as young as four can start in our Tiny Eagles program, but otherwise it is never too late to start learning karate.
