Located at the corner of Lavista and Briarcliff (near the former Whole Foods), MDO is convenient to all of Atlanta's Intown neighborhoods. For information about our classes, see the Program Overview. As a not-for-profit preschool, MDO is operated by a Board of Directors, composed of the school's Executive Director and a selection of parent volunteers.
The following is the Board for the 2021-2022 school year. Morningside Day Out (MDO) admits students of any race, color, or national and ethnic origin. MDO does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sexual orientation, or national and ethnic origin in the employment of faculty and administrative staff and in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, and other school-administered programs.

Program Overview
Report
We are committed to the philosophy that children learn best through play and discovery. Our program is rich in music, art, creative expression, gardening, and a variety of sensory experiences. Enrichment is woven into each day, creating the fabric of the school week.
In addition, the learning experience is enhanced by our weekly music class and yoga class along with special visits from storytellers, performers, and community helpers at no extra cost.Children who attend MDO, but do not come on the day a special visit is scheduled, are invited to attend with a parent or caregiver.

Report
MDO is a not for profit, 501(c)(3) organization. In addition to our tuition and fees, we rely on fundraising and grants to fund special activities and curriculum enrichment (storytellers, musicians, petting zoos, puppeteers, etc.). There are many ways you can support MDO as an individual or a business!
Babies
Report
May attend 1 or 2 days per week; parents may choose any combination of days, provided space is available. The beginning of wonderful preschool memories starts in our baby class (the "Sweet Peas"). Our babies are cared for by friendly, enthusiastic, and responsive teachers in a calm, soothing, happy environment.
Ones
Report
As children begin to walk and talk, their curiosity drives them to explore. Our one year old program (the "Sparkles" and "Sprouts" classes) encourages children's developing independence by helping them hone self-help skills, such as the ability to feed themselves, relate to others, and make choices.
Twos
Report
In our two year old classes (the "Ladybugs", "Bumblebees" and "Caterpillars"), we recognize that children at this age have moved on to a more advanced stage of development. They have learned how to walk well, are more physically enabled, and are beginning to communicate using single words. They have also started to "parallel play" with other children and have entered the exploring stages of childhood.
