Mediation without attorneys

Pro Se mediations are mediations where the participants are not represented by lawyers. One divorce lawyer can't represent both of you if you are getting a divorce in Florida; however, you can have a divorce mediation without lawyers. You can also mediate other family disputes like child custody, child support, and alimony without lawyers.

Paul Simon sang about the 50 ways to leave your lover. What he didn't say is that some ways are better than others. The traditional model for divorce has been to file a Petition with the court, serve your spouse using a process server, and then try to work everything out. This model has led to a lot of nasty actions, huge expenses, and broken families.

Uncontested Divorce

If you are able to work out an agreement together with an uncontested divorce, you may hire our office to finalize and prepare the written agreement. Our office will also prepare other necessary court documents, including the Petition, financial disclosure statements, and the Final Judgment. Based on your agreement, Keith drafts all of the necessary documents you and your spouse would need to sign.

Cooperative Divorce

If you are able to work out most of your agreement together, you may still need some professional assistance reaching agreement for some of the final terms. In that case, you may consider cooperative divorce methods before filing a Petition for Dissolution of Marriage. These options include written settlement proposals, settlement conferences, and mediation.
