Austin Stitzer D.V.M. was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He did his undergraduate education at Arizona State University and then moved to Texas to go to Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 1999 he moved back to the Valley of the Sun, and worked as an associate Veterinarian in the valley that helped him refine his skills, learn reproductive medicine and other specialties.

At Vistancia Animal Hospital we perform the highest quality anesthesia safety with complete oral health evaluations and treatment. Prior to performing any anesthetic procedure, all patients will undergo a pre-anesthetic evaluation which includes a preoperative blood profile and physical examination.

When the infected mosquito bites, the larvae pass through the tissue into the bloodstream. In time, they reach the arteries of the lungs where they continue to develop and grow. Once they arrive in the lungs, at three months post-infection, they can start to do damage. At Vistancia Animal Hospital we recommend year round Heartworm prevention, and your loved one can begin after testing negative for their first Heartworm test.

At Vistancia Animal Hospital we utilize a full in house diagnostic laboratory. We have the ability to run full chemistry and CBC panels, as well as diagnose diseases during your appointment for routine care. Heartworm tests and other laboratory tests can also be run in house for your convenience, and ease when refilling medications.
