Our attorneys have experience in many practice areas of the law. Roger E. Kohn was born in New Jersey, and moved to Vermont in 1971. Roger was graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1967, with a major in physics.
He obtained his law degree magna cum laude (with high honors) from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1971, where he was a Comment Editor of the Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. He received the Henry C. Loughlin prize for legal ethics. Roger served as a law clerk to the Honorable Bernard J. Leddy, Chief U.S. District Judge, and worked at Vermont Legal Aid before opening his practice in Hinesburg.

David Rath was born in Washington, D.C. in 1950 and grew up in Cooperstown, New York, moving to Vermont in 1974. David was graduated from Dartmouth College in 1972 and from the Franklin Pierce Law Center, now University of New Hampshire School of Law in 1979. David originally joined Roger Kohn in Hinesburg as an associate, and in 1981 they became partners in the predecessor firm to Kohn Rath Danon.
Robert W. Scharf
Report
Robert W. Scharf earned his J.D. from Vermont Law School in 2010. At law school he competed in Moot Court and worked as a researcher in Vermont Law School's Land Use Institute. Originally from Connecticut, Robert's undergraduate studies took place in Connecticut and France, and he received a Master's degree for graduate studies in England.
Maggie Gordon
Report
Maggie Gordon of Hinesburg, Vermont, assists the firm with billing, bookkeeping, document preparation, and other office functions. She is a graduate of Middlebury College, where she earned a B.A. in English Literature and an M.A. in Russian. She was a Lecturer in Russian at the University of Vermont and Saint Michael's College, as well as teaching Applied Linguistics at Saint Michael's College.
