Solid State Construction
In other words. I'm probably not what you picture when you think of the average contractor. So how did an industry outlier and (let's face it) nerd like me end up building New England's biggest family-owned remodeling company? I certainly didn't do it by myself; it took years of extraordinarily passionate effort from the most amazing team in the industry.

But let me tell you how it all got started. When I was a strapped-for-cash college junior, my buddy got me a part-time job as a roofer. Pure nerves, I grabbed some nails and a shingle. I placed the shingle on the roof deck, lined up a nail, removed my hammer from my toolbelt, and struck my maiden blow.
Services
Let's face it: Exterior remodeling in Central MA is steeped in outdated traditions. Aggressive salespeople, second-rate installers, and lack of professionalism were the norm in the 1980s. We've become MetroWest's biggest family-owned exterior contractor by bucking obsolete industry conventions. Our strict hiring standards filter out the surly installers, "sales gangsters", and apathetic individuals who plague the industry.
People
Report
Whenever we publicly advertise that we're hiring, we can get well over 100 applicants for just a few open positions. What can we say? People LOVE being part of the Solid State team! The kind of people who are genuinely thrilled to help homeowners achieve their dream remodel. Our picky hiring process allows us to fill ALL positions in our company-from our office administration to sales to installation-with rock-star talent.
Process
Report
Let's be honest: Most exterior remodeling in the Boston area doesn't go according to plan. The reason why? Lack of a proper process. Many companies just don't have the systems in place to pull off efficient, streamlined remodeling. We've created a down-to-the-finest-detail process we follow to the "t" on every single job.
Preparation
Report
Would you trust a surgeon who prepped for your operation by glancing at your file 10 seconds before surgery? Or get on an airplane with a pilot whose training consisted of YouTubing a "how to fly a plane" video? So why leave your remodel in the hands of an unprepared, undertrained, unequipped company?
Professionalism
Report
Professionalism stems from RESPECT for the customer. If a company is missing deadlines, pressuring you to buy, and blasting Aerosmith at full volume during installation, guess what? They don't respect you. That sounds harsh, but it's true. Because a company that respects their customers does EVERYTHING in their power to ensure a smooth, easy, and pleasant experience-period.
