Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks
Our directors provide every service with an expression of excellence that offers a living tribute for those we are honored to serve. Schoppenhorst on Preston Hwy is one of the largest funeral homes in Kentucky. One of the reasons is our superior preparation room staff, John Bishop, Barry Lawson, Kirt Fry and Ruth Domanek.

Their work is acknowledged supreme in Kentucky. Note to other funeral homes: They exclusively use intermittent drainage. Also, those who make arrangements include Angela Caldwell, Alyssa Wolf, Tiffany McKinney, Benny Evans, Maureen Purcell, Lisa Rambo- Clark and Beth Reno. This is their calling and they do it well.

Our Staff
Report
Staff members of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors.

Ben Underwood attended his Grandfather's funeral in 1943, he witnessed an old time tradition where the casket was lowered into the grave with all the family gathered around. This is a practice that has faded away over the past years. Since that time, he told everyone he came into contact with of his intense desire to become a funeral director.
Life Choices
Report
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Why Plan Ahead
Report
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.

Planning Insights
Report
Most of us are not prepared to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for someone we love.
