Pikake School

Here at Pikake, we believe that the deeply connected relationships developed between teachers, children, and their families are crucial for a child to become a lifelong learner. We look at families as teaching partners, and encourage their involvement. Our teachers are exceptionally well-qualified, multi-lingual, passionate about early childhood education.

Pikake School believes that children are powerful, rich and capable. Childhood is the crucial time when children build a foundation for their future and they begin to paint their life on their own canvas. We feel childhood is the culmination of precious moments all combined and we would like to support children by providing a nurturing environment, guiding them, and honoring their curiosity, discovery, and imagination.

Our school name "Pikake School" is inspired by the small, white Pikake jasmine flower from Hawaii. Each Pikake flower is lovely and fragrant on its own, but when dozens of these flowers are brought together into a lei, the result is a beautiful joining of petals and a scent that embodies happiness.

Pikake School's earlychildhood curriculum is based on the Montessori Method, and is inspired by Reggio Emilia approach and new educational research methods. Our goal is to support our children by helping them become bilingual to contribute to the global community and provide an enchanted childhood.

Our class size is intentionally small so that students can receive the time and attention they deserve in a structured and open learning space. We provide a low teacher to student ratio so that all children have plenty of access to encouragement and guidance from their teachers. We have a home like feeling that is warm and charming.
