Melissa Shane served as Adjunct Professor of Psychology for thirteen years and trained and worked in private practice for over ten years, before opening Healing Hearts Counseling in 2017. Today, Melissa enjoys working with kids, teens and adults of all ages in a broad range of issues.

Unrealistic body image, eating disorders, and low self-esteem can be clinical issues young girls struggle with today. Hollywood and social media bombard our girls with photoshopped and heavily edited false versions of perfection that are often dangerous and unattainable. This causes a search for perfection, self-harming behavior, peer rejection, isolation, and depression and anxiety.

Healing Hearts Consulting is available to come to you in person, in office, or by remote/internet services. Education and Training

This training included general information regarding risk factors, symptoms, treatment options, and resources for identifying and helping families that experience mental health changes during the perinatal period. This training is ideal for professionals working with pregnant or postpartum moms, families, or pediatric settings.
