Mike Nelson, DDS

Dr. Mike Nelson is a Duncan, OK native. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1972 and earned a bachelor's degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford in 1975. Dr. Nelson obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Oklahoma University in 1980. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Nelson opened his private practice in his home town.

After reading reviews, I chose this dentist for my family. They got us in quickly for cleanings, scheduled timely appointments for extractions and fillings, and two of my children had decent experiences with the repair work. When it came time for my eight year old to get work done, he wanted me to be present. This office does not allow parents in the room for procedures.
I explained the procedure wouldn't happen if I wasn't present and they set up a chair outside the treatment room facing away from my child. We went back and forth and in the end it was just "these are the doctor's rules". So,

Brought my 8yr old grandson in, who had had a previous bad dentist experience somewhere else, and Audrey (Aubrey) was amazing with him and made him feel that he was in control which made him feel better. Dr Mike came in and treated him the same way, nice and respectful! would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new dentist!!

Had to bring my small children in with me (2 and 5) was dreading the dentist but my tooth hurt so bad I had no choice. His staff literally watched my children for me and went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed while I saw dr. Nelson. Oh, and Dr. Nelson was the best dentist! You can tell he loves his patients and isn't in it for the money. He's so friendly and non judgemental! My teeth are awful and he proceeded to tell me that anything can be fixed and he would take good care of me. Definitely, going back.
