Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors has been owned and operated by local Pueblo families since it was started in 1922 by the Rouch family. We have never been part of a large, out-of-state corporate conglomerate, and we have no plans to sell out and become just another cog in the wheel of a corporate giant.

Designed with families in mind, Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors have completed its expansion and remodeling project. Our modern, clean Reception Center offers families and their guests a gathering place after the service to share memories, socialize and continue to support each other. Our handicapped accessible elevator transports guests to the second-floor reception room that comfortably seats more than 125.
Mountain View Cemetery

Mountain View Cemetery is located in the heart of Pueblo near the Colorado State Fair grounds and occupies 45 acres surrounded by a native stone wall. More than one third of this spacious, tree covered and beautifully landscaped cemetery is still open and available for future use, as well as the availability of above ground entombment in the recently competed community chapel mausoleum.
Our Cremation Safeguards

At Montgomery and Steward Funeral Directors we own and operate our own crematory with licensed and certified staff. Many other funeral homes hire third party crematories. These often have multiple funeral homes transferring remains in and out at any given time. This makes it nearly impossible for those other funeral homes to manage and supervise the cremation as well as Montgomery and Steward Funeral Directors can do for you.
