Smile Castle Pediatric Dentistry
Our dedicated team is proud to be treating the smiles of Southern Maryland's Children. We provide a full range of routine and complex dental procedures in a child friendly environment. As a board-certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Hwang focuses on preventive care and education to help each child grow a healthy smile that will last a lifetime.

For the same reasons that you take your child to see a pediatrician, children benefit from seeing a pediatric dentist who specializes in handling their specific needs. Our experienced staff is uniquely trained and committed to providing the highest quality care for your child.

Our Mission
Report
Our highly trained pediatric dental team is dedicated to serving Southern Maryland's children, so that they will have healthy smiles that will last a lifetime. We perform evidence-based dentistry and abide by the guidelines and recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association.
Services
Report
According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, your child's first dental visit should be within 6 months after the first tooth appears, or no later than his/her first birthday. At Smile Castle, we believe that it's never too early to start a lifetime habit of good dental health.

If not cared for properly, baby teeth can develop cavities that can cause pain and infection, and if not treated properly, these may adversely affect your child's permanent teeth.During the baby wellness checkup, we will perform a comprehensive oral examination, give oral hygiene and dietary recommendations, provide anticipatory guidance regarding the development of teeth, and provide guidance towards habit management.

Office Policies
Report
We know our parents lead busy lives, therefore our office will make every effort to schedule your child's appointment for a time that is convenient to your schedule. Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are fresher and we can work more slowly with them for their comfort. School children with a lot of dental work needing to be done should be seen in the morning for the same reason.
New Patients
Report
Our office, as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a "Dental Home" for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.
