I am our building's current board treasurer. Orsid is our managing agent and has been for over 20 years. In all of that time, I can only say great things about their service, professionalism, and knowledge of NYC real estate. If you are a building looking to make any substantial changes with regard to NYC building code, budgeting, tax or financial considerations, staff management, board organization and more, then you must consider them as an option. They are lead by a seasoned team with many years of experience. We have found their experience and history to be a tremendous resource for feedback

DO NOT USE THEM. READ THESE REVIEWS because I wish I did before dealing with them. I applied for a property managed by this company. Move in date came and went with no reply or feedback despite multiple attempts to contact. As a result I had to hastily find another apartment, renegotiate my original move out date with my previous landlord. Only response I got was from Ben Shuman (an account executive) saying that "While we are sorry that you were not able to complete your application for the apartment at Woodstock, Orsid is not able to take responsibility for the confusion that led to your not

When I speak with friends who live in other NYC co-op buildings I realize again and again how fortunate my husband and I are to live in a building managed by Orsid Realty. Orsid has managed our Soho co-op building for many years. As a shareholder and later a board member I find that Orsid is always ready to provide information and informed opinions to help us make important decisions for our building. About ten years ago when we needed a new super Orsid oversaw the process, brought several good candidates to be interviewed, checked references, and gave us the terrific super we have had all these

As a sponsor of numerous conversions, who works with many 3rd party full service mgmt firms in NYC, Orsid is among the most responsive and qualified and professional. Our unsold shares and retail spaces are managed with a sense of care, as if they owned it themselves. Our account executive, Lauren Svenningsen, is terrific. If I didn’t like Orsid so much, I’d sweep her up for our company!

I have lived in the Vermeer (coop) one of the buildings in chelsea that Orsid
manages for over 25 years. I highly recommend them, our main contact is VP John Devall he and the rest of his team are also great. He has consistently been on top of any and all issues that might be going on in our building. My coop board is picky and they have kept Orsid throughout all the years and will continue to because in my opinion and theirs they are the best . I can't say enough about John and his team. John's information is Orsid New York, 212 484-3760 his email is jdevall@orsidny.com feel

I would give this company zero stars if that was an option. I live in a coop and we are misfortunate enough to have Orsid as our managing agent. They are disgustingly rude, unhelpful and NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE OR EMAIL. Does anyone have the contact information of someone high up in the company who I can speak to?

Run, run away from any property managed by this company. Awful service, no consideration of your requests, charge for every little thing (move in, move out fee even you came just with one suitcase), rodent full buildings with zero solution and support given to tenants, rude staff, useless superintendents that does not help you AT ALL, even does not bother to listen to you concerns.

If you are considering buying or god forbid renting an apartment that is managed by Orsid Realty I implore you to run away - no apartment is worth the trouble they will bring you. They are a cut-rate company for badly-run buildings and boards, where the money you might save on your housing will be routed right back into lawyers to fight them and the mental health services you'll need to manage the stress they will cause you.

My nightmare with Orsid began after my 30-page application, submitted in person in septuplicate, was turned away because the three written references provided were insufficient

I've moved in an orsid managed building for a whole year now. I've been regretting since the first day I'm here. Bad communication between the management team, slow to respond, and the front desk are RUDE and constantly gave me and my neighbors a hard time. They are there not to help/service you but looking for every opportunities lecturing you. I just saw the negative reviews made by the others and i cant agree more.
If you are a nice person and works for orsid, im sorry and you deserve a better place. If you are thinking of buying an apartment, pls avoid any building managed by this company

I have been involved with Orsid for 15 years as a board member of my coop. The managing agents are extremely knowledgeable and their level of expertise is superb. They have help the board navigate through difficult issues seamlessly. They always go beyond the "call of duty" both professionally and personally. I feel extremely fortunate to be associated with them.

This is my first Yelp review. This management company is so bad that I had to go out of my way to sign up for a Yelp account just for this.

My building 300 E 54th Street just signed up to this management company and so far it's been a NIGHTMARE.

This company overcharged me $6500 in my maintenance and had my name wrong. They confused me with some other apartment. This is crazy.

I've called and called and called and can't get someone on the phone.

HELP ME. AVOID THIS COMPANY

I've lived in a 50+ yr-old Orsid-managed bldg. in Manhattan for almost 19 years. Management has been consistent in keeping up with the problems that occur in any building that age. There were major issues with the exterior that took a long time to fix, but once it was done the problems were resolved. Improvements take place regularly and the building runs smoothly. As a resident, I've found the manager assigned to our bldg to be responsive to complaints and pleasant to work with. The way Orsid keeps our building residents informed about any issue has improved greatly over the years I

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value
Please do not live anywhere that is managed by Orsid. I mean it. It's an absolute, complete, utter disaster of a company that (1) charges for EVERY LITTLE THING; (2) is absolutely incompetent and slow to respond; and (3) will not even share any document but later throws you various "requirements" that you need to meet.

Terrible company with outrageous fees associated with anything and everything. Completely unhelpful and obstructive; they insist on using paper mail and checks and can take weeks to return correspondence or paperwork. Their penny pinching and greed is apparent in everything they do, avoid them and their properties if possible

The managers and doorman's are rude and unapologetic- this is disgusting and inappropriate to have this kind of behavior in NYC this day. I rented from them/combined with a great landlord. The landlord was fantastic but ORSID was a nightmare. ORSID kept our security deposit under dubious circumstances and berated and insulted me on the phone when I inquired on it and it was completely unecessary and unprofessional. I cannot believe someone would speak to another person in that manner.

Awful managment company that only does the bare minimum after you get lawyers involved. I suggest keeping a detailed record of your correspondence and be persistent. It's amazing to me how these management companies get away with defaulting on their legal obligations.

Orsid is a poor excuse for a co-op management company! They are incompetent, cannot manage the simplest of projects, and constantly without fail, give empty excuses without providing answers. It's perplexing how any co-op, including mine, still uses them! It's beyond frustrating that our maintenance fees goes towards paying Orsid's annual contract.

A board member in my building constantly complained that they wanted to get rid of Orsid for their sheer ineptitude and lack of service. I agree, my board desperately needs to part ways with this dated company and spend a little more

Orsid Realty is an excellent management company. They have been managing my Chelsea co-op since 2001. They are always cordial, professional and responsive. They truly care for the properties and shareholders/condo owners in their portfolios. If you are looking for the highest quality in service from a property management company for your building then 'Orsid' is your answer.

BEWARE of ORSID! If anyone reading this is thinking about having ORSID as their management Co. or thinking about moving in to an ORSID managed building BEWARE! Ben Shuman, the manager who has been hired by our building ONLY fairly RECENTLY is completely unprofessional, unresponsive and very unpleasant person to have manage your place of residence.

Ben Shuman has charged me legal fees, WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE or CONSENT, grabbing $1500 from my bank account because Orsid had a auto payment authorization for my monthly maintenance fees. They have refused to refund me these fees for a problem which

After a wonderful management company closed and left us after 25 years in business, our Board chose...THIS.

The staff turnover and the lack of responsiveness (and blatant excuses for this!) are unfathomable and I don't understand how they can stay in business. I feel our money is wasted and will be filing a complaint against them.

I just wrote a more detailed review, which yelp "lost" when it claimed I needed to change my password.

So I will summarize with a few choice words: DO NOT CHOOSE ORSID. OR YOU WILL REGRET IT. ALWAYS.

Orsid is the absolute worst. In under a year under of their management, they have proven to be unresponsive and inept. Rarely do they pick up a phone, return a call and in they event you do speak to them, their answers are robotic and canned. They add nothing. How our building choose these imbeciles is beyond me.

The ultimate "can't do" company. They have no answers provided no ideas or solutions regarding our problems brushed off.

Maybe because I was only renting an apt in the Wakefield in forest hills- and not an owner. So perhaps I was not important enough.

Anyhow, I would not rent an apt again if Orsid was the management company. That's for sure.
