The Rod Shippey Education Facility and Field Laboratory will serve as the main field research facility for agriculture and natural resources for Northern California.The project is a joint-use library between the Fairfield-Suisun City Unified School District and Suisun City. This expansion of West Portal Lutheran School was constructed to house the School's Kindergarden through 3rd Grade program.

While my loft renovations were relatively minor, I was changing the loading of the floor. Given that this was a multi-unit building and my unit was on the top floor, I considered it critical that I determine the safety of the project. In addition, the City of San Francisco required both calculations and drawings to obtain permits in this situation.
