Needham Spine Care
The human spine serves two most important functions: Support of the head and body in the upright posture against the everpresent forces of gravity, as well as protection of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and portions of the peripheral nervous system (spinal nerves).

The brain is housed and protected by the skull, brainstem and spinal cord passing through the foramen magnum, a hole at the base of the skull, into a canal formed by 24 moveable vertebrae, and 31 pair of spinal nerves, each consisting of millions of individual fibers that carry a continuous stream of vital, life sustaining messages to every organ, tissue and cell.

History
Report
Did you know that chiropractic dates back to the time of Hippocrates? He believed that if the spine was misaligned, it greatly contributed to the health of an individual. The modern day school of chiropractic dates back to 1895, when Dr. Daniel Palmer adjusted a man that had lost his hearing 17 years prior.
What is Atlas Orthogonal Upper Cervical Care
Report
A PRECISELY DELIVERED, gentle and controlled contact on the first vertebrae in the neck (ATLAS) is designed to restore balance to the spine. Even though the primary focus of the adjustment is in the neck, the effects of this important correction influences the whole spine and all body systems. This is because the atlas orthogonal procedure influences one of the highest control centers over body balance, the brain stem and central nervous system.
First Visit Expectations
Report

The process begins by thoroughly reviewing your detailed health history including your chief complaint(s), review of systems, surgical and family history, exercise habits and history of any past traumas, including motor vehicle accidents, recreational and sports injuries, work related traumas, and prior treatment programs, diagnostic testing including imaging studies and their results.
