Founded by Grandmaster J.K. Chung in 1980, the Korean Academy of Taekwondo, LLC is located at 16850 E. Mississippi Ave and is Aurora's oldest continually operating martial arts school. KAT has taught students of all levels from special needs to competitors at the 2012 London Olympics and all ages from 2 to 70+.

Can anyone join? Yes! We have everyone from 2 year old beginners to 65+ year old black belts. We have trained students at all different ability levels (special needs to Olympians) and many students with various disabilities. Martial arts training can be especially beneficial to students with ADD, Autism, ADHD, and various learning disabilities.

The Korean Academy of Taekwondo has won numerous awards for both customer service as well as student quality. For more on these see the press section, or official school history. 5 time Colorado State Taekwondo Association School of the Year - We earned this award in 2010, 2011, and 2012, 2013 (3rd Place), 2014, and 2015, 2016 (2nd Place) and 2018 (3rd Place) for earning the most medals in the Colorado State Taekwondo Championships.

Founded in 1980, the Korean Academy of Taekwondo is Aurora, Colorado's oldest currently operating martial arts school. We offer children's classes, preschool classes, and teen and adult classes. Our training focuses on helping students get stronger, lose weight, and defend themselves, all in a fun and positive environment.
