Welcome to Little Scholars Academy, a special place for 2 to 6 year-olds. At both of our SW Portland schools you will find a nurturing educational environment where each child's individual talents, learning style and personality are welcomed by our passionate and dedicated teachers. Take a peek at our Johns Landing Preschool (for 2 to 3 1/2 year-olds) or our SW Portland Pre-K/Kindergarten (for 3 1/2 to 6 year-olds).

Our Program

Children are at the heart of our curriculum. Their learning must be rooted in experiences appropriate to their developmental levels, and pursued based on an individual interest. Our quality early childhood curriculum is focused on the whole child and considers physical, cognitive and social-emotional growth.
Rates & Enrollment

Our schools are open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays and vacation. Tuition is currently $1185 per month for full or part-time. Your tuition allows you to use any and all hours we are open for business; you can choose any schedule you like but the rate is the same regardless.

Our schools are located in private homes that have been transformed for the children, each offering more than twice the state required square footage. Each Portland preschool location has at least two playrooms, including a "Jungle Room"; a play area specific for large motor skill indoor play, during the plentiful rainy Portland days.

We love Little Scholars! Our son thrives there and has grown so much since starting last winter, especially compared to his previous daycare. He always tells us he had a good day and how much fun he had with his teachers and friends.
A few of our favorite things are the jungle room which is amazing for the kids to play all winter, the backyard for outdoor space, the monthly calendar with a daily theme or activity, and one of the biggest differences we noticed is that he doesn't come home hungry!Also he is 2.5 yrs old but speaks like a kindergartner and potty trained and we believe that's hugely in part to the methods at Little Scholars!

Nutrition is an important part of a happy child. We provide a full breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. We have a 2 week rotating menu with a variety of meals including fresh fruits, lots of vegetables, lean meats, Tillamook cheese, whole grain bread and milk. All nitrate free and some organic. If Portland Public Schools (Multnomah County) are closed or starting late, so is Little Scholars Academy.
