Services
Paul Callister, CMHC
I help people who have anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationship problems. I specialize in person-centered psychotherapy, and am trained in psychoanalytic and trauma-informed approaches. I also help couples in high to moderate distress to reduce conflict and to connect to each other in desired, fulling connection.
Mara Callister, LCSW
I help you approach the pain and problems in your life and move forward with greater wholeness. Emotional healing and personal growth are hard work. My office is a safe, comfortable place to talk and learn about yourself. I am a careful listener with a trauma-informed, intelligent and compassionate approach to therapy.
Anxiety and Depression
Treatment for anxiety is effective. You can develop understanding and compassion for your discomfort and take steps toward relief. You can feel free and at ease. You can also build the confidence and hope you need to move forward. Contact me to schedule a no-charge 20 minute phone consultation to discuss how I might be able to work with you.
Trauma and PTSD
You experienced something disturbing. It really bothered you and is in the past, but you can't get past it. And you don't know how to get over it, although not for lack of effort. Little things stress you out, you get sweaty hands, intense anger, fear, sadness, helpless and guilt emotions. And nightmares.
Couples Counseling
You have blocks you are not able to work through, and you are seeking couples or marriage counseling. You love your partner, husband, or wife, AND with increasing frequency and intensity conflicts come up that are destructive and that in the end leave you feeling alone, terrified and exhausted. You may feel like your partner hates you, doesn't care about you, or has abandoned you, even if logically you know that isn't true.
Group Therapy
Group psychotherapy or group therapy is an effective form of mental health counseling. It consists of one or more therapists who work with a small group of clients together as a group, to work on their treatment goals. It has a number of advantages, which even individual counseling may not have. These include the opportunity to learn about yourself, become more healthy, and more effective in your life roles.
