Initially settling in Everett, WA, the family soon moved to Mount Vernon, WA where Ali's father had purchased City Bakery. As a teenager Ali was soon employed at the bakery. Tragedy struck in January, . He is survived by his wife, LaRue and his daughter, Kate. Ted was a lifelong educator and served as the Assistant Superintendent of Bellingham Schools for many years.
