I have been practicing law since 1977 and for most of those years it has been my privilege and honor to be a member of this firm. It is now time to take it easier and spend more time with my wife and family. So I am not undertaking any new matters, with the comfort of knowing that Bob, Jack, Tim, Jeff, Matt and Shannon and the staff can continue servicing our clients.

We have acted as mediators, arbitrators, and court appointed commissioners in hundreds of commercial, bankruptcy, and foreclosure cases throughout Vermont. We analyze the prospects of potential appeals in light of existing law and the factual findings that were made at trial. We also brief and orally argue appeals from the decisions of all state and federal courts and administrative agencies, on behalf of both appellants and appellees.

We have acted as mediators, arbitrators, and court appointed commissioners in hundreds of commercial, bankruptcy, and foreclosure cases throughout Vermont. Timothy U. Martin is certified to mediate foreclosure cases under the federal Home Affordability Modification Program ("HAMP").

Our attorneys have been appointed or chosen by the parties as arbitrators and mediators in complex commercial disputes, often helping achieve settlements in cases that have been pending on court dockets for many years.ADR is a significant portion of any litigation practice and our attorneys have the experience, knowledge, and perseverance to facilitate the crafting of imaginative settlements in complicated legal and factual contexts.

We have been engaged for many years as counsel to local and out-of state banks. We assist in the preparation and review of bank loan participations, commercial loan transactions and related mortgage and UCC security filings, in bank credit facilities, asset-based lending, construction projects, and refinances.

We have represented debtors and creditors, in liquidations, reorganizations, and the many elements of complex bankruptcy actions. Our attorneys have successfully prosecuted Chapter 11 matters and obtained confirmation of reorganization plans proposed on behalf of debtors, secured creditors, and court-appointed Chapter 11 Trustees.
