FAQs
Report
The doctors at AHOC recommend that your pet be examined at least once a year to receive vaccine boosters and general health exams. If you have a young pet or a senior pet, then more frequent visits may be necessary. It is recommended that pets be sterilized around 5-6 months of age. It is important to remember that spaying/neutering is a surgical procedure, and animals need to be mature to recover properly.
Dental Care
Report
One of the most overlooked aspects of animal health is dental health. The doctors and staff of Animal Hospital of Clinton are eager to treat pets and educate their owners on proper dental care. Improper care does not only affect your pet's breath, but also their overall health. Many heart, liver and kidney problems or diseases can be related to poor dental care.
Dermatology
Report
In the south skin problems are very common. Fleas and Ticks are very prevalent in this area. Itching, licking, and scratching are the first signs we see. Hormonal issues may also show up as skin problems. If you happen to notice any of these issues, please have your pet examined by one of our doctors.
Heartworm Testing
Report
Heartworms are a parasite transmitted by mosquitoes. Heartworm disease is extremely common in the south. We recommend testing once a year to make sure your pet is free of this disease and staying on preventative medication year round. If your pet is not currently on heartworm prevention, they must have a blood test performed.
