We are Houston's premier dojo for Traditional "Nihon" Ju-Jitsu. The art of Ju-Jitsu, the Gentle Art, is a self defense martial art system which enables the practitioner to defend oneself either standing or on the ground. We incorporate various strikes to specific parts of the body, along with joint locks, chokes, throwing and immobilization techniques.
Jujitsu also teaches a wide range of weapon techniques. We teach more than just kicking, punching, joint locks, and throwing. We teach life skills through respect in the body, strength in the mind, and spirit in the heart. That's what makes us today's Bushido warriors. Jujitsu developed to combat the samurai of feudal Japan as a method for defeating an armed and armored opponent in which one uses no weapon, or only a short weapon.

History
Report
The origin of Ju-Jitsu is not clear, however the first publicly recognized Ju-Jitsu Ryu was formed by Hisamori Takenouchi in 1532 and consisted of techniques using a sword, jo-stick and dagger, as well as unarmed techniques. The Takenouchi-Ryu may be regarded as the primal branch for the teaching of arts similar to that of Ju-Jitsu.
